The High Desert Marine organization was founded on February 3, 2007 by Sergeant Major (ret.) Sal Navarro, our first Commander.

Our second Commander was Frank Alaniz

Our current Commander is Larry Avalos

The High Desert Marines is a nonprofit public benefit California corporation whose proceeds benefit the Barstow Veteran's Home, Vets for Veterans, Marine Corps Logistics Base, Apple Valley Young Marines, Disabled American Veterans, VFW Post 2924, American Legion Post 229, Semper-Fi Fund, Quilts of Valor, AMVETS of Victorville and other local charities.
